The OIS provides training and access to other training resources for government entities. These resources are collected from numerous sources. The OIS will continue to update this web site as new training resources become available.

Information Security Leadership Academy
The California Office of Information Security, the College of Engineering and Computer Science, and the College of Continuing Education at Sacramento State have partnered to deliver the Information Security Leadership Academy Certificate Program to state and local government employees. Through this Program, you will learn security measures to ensure that your agency's information is reliable, available, protected for confidentiality, and responsive to mandates from many levels of government-all which will assist you in fully supporting your agency's mission and goals. You'll gain a broad range of business and technical skills and information.
This program is designed for public and private sector security professionals and individuals in the information security field wanting to upgrade their skills and increase their effectiveness. The Program has a total of six courses for a total of 84 classroom hours and 8.4 Continuing Education Units (CEU's). Pre- and post-program half-day sessions will be held to discuss the class project. Online applications are now being accepted for the Information Security Leadership Academy. OIS Security and Privacy Training
Under development. Will include recommended annual security and privacy training content (anticipated not later than end of July 2009). Online course available by March 2010.

Other Free Training Resources Obtained Through the OIS
The OIS can facilitate your access to multiple other entities that provide free training resources. Examples include the following:
- Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC): The MS-ISAC provides cyber security training for government entities only.
- United States Department of Homeland Security.
- University of Arkansas Cyberterrorism Defense Initiative Training (previously Sentinel).
- University of San Antonio: Developed a robust set of security training courses, including a Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) preparation course.
