Information for the Public
In August 2007 the Legislature appropriated funds to establish the Office of the State Chief Information Officer as a cabinet-level agency with statutory authority over strategic vision and planning, enterprise architecture, IT policy, and project approval and oversight
The State CIO also provides leadership for the State's information technology programs and works collaboratively with other information technology leaders throughout state government. The State CIO's role, therefore, is as a strategic planner and architect for the State's information technology programs and as a leader in formulating and advancing a vision for that program.
