Executive Overview The Office of the State Chief Information Officer (OCIO) for the State of California provides leadership for the State's information technology programs and works collaboratively with other information technology leaders throughout state government. The OCIO's role, is as a strategic planner and architect for the State's information technology programs and as a leader in formulating and advancing a vision for that program.



Enterprise Architecture Program - develops, maintains and enables the implementations of California Enterprise Architecture. An enterprise architecture program allows for an integrated and cohesive approach to implementing technology initiatives. This facilitates efficiency and enhanced service. The OCIO with EAP is charged with developing a comprehensive Enterprise Architecture for the Executive Branch's IT program. The OCIO has released a number of documents for your review. Primary among these is the Enterprise Architecture Developers Guide located in Section 58A of the Statewide Information Management Manual (SIMM). The EA Developers Guide provides the instructions and information necessary to report the Business Reference Model (BRM), Technical Reference Model (TRM) and Service Reference Model (SRM) data by forms which are linked to in the document.. The objective of the EA Developers Guide is to define and end-to-end process to initiate, implement, and sustain an enterprise architecture program.

EA Updates to EA Manual

The EAC has published an update to the Enterprise Architecture Manual. The update clarifies the use of the form when asking for a change to standards, policies, or procedures. December 31, 2010

Forum

The EA Forum is a site used for calaboration of standards, policies and best practices. The EA Forum will also be used as a town hall for open discusssions and thought for EA points of intrest.
